As a Personal Trainer myself I know for a fact that our services can be somewhat outside some people’s budget. More often than not it seems that it is not the cost but the unwillingness to part with hard earned money for something that seems too expensive or, dare I say, something that we know we may give up in a few months.
So what are the alternatives?
There are a few: firstly fitness magazines. If you can bypass all the adverts and “6 minute ab” style promises (or lies, as we like to call them – Beeble) they actually contain some useful guidance and motivational workouts. Then there are the fitness staff at your local gym who are often only too happy to help out and give advice (often depends on how well the company treats them – Beeble). Various internet sites also contain very useful information for you to use like our very own beebleblog.com and the few links and blogs we have mentioned on our menu. Finally, the one we are going to concentrate on today, is a new way of getting varied and interesting workouts via your mobile device. It is a company called “PumpOne”.

All right, so the whole world seems to be a panic about overweight children and in the UK not a day goes by that the subject doesn’t come up in one form or another on TV or in our newspapers. We blame the government, then we blame the fast food restaurants, then we blame the soda and fizzy drink companies and it seems to turn into an argument about who’s to blame. I am a strong believer that the parents are to blame. (Oooo touchy subject – Beeble) I was bought up in the computer generation where my brother and I liked nothing better than playing computer games or watching TV. However we were never allowed to sit there for hours on end. Our time on these activities was limited. My parents were also only too happy to play sports outdoors with us and encourage it which I think has helped no end in keeping us healthy. The way we are bought up continues into our adult lives and dictates how we will live. So if our parents sit around doing nothing and eating bad food then that is what we will learn to do. Is this in fact a form of child cruelty? I think so, but that subject is perhaps best left for another day.
I bet you have heard that statement before! Those of you who have been brave enough to try diets and even stick to them have probably seen the results for a while only to have them disappear a short time later. During the diet you have probably also felt like you were starving yourselves and a general feeling that something was missing (Chocolate! – Beeble). This type of dieting is sometimes referred to as yo-yo dieting as your scales will be going up and down as you gain and lose weight. Not only are the majority of diets bad for you as they work on depriving the body of its natural needs but they are also bad for your mind: promising to give so much and delivering so little (very disheartening – Beeble). This is not to say that no other diet works. You see we are all different and what works for some doesn’t always work for others. But I truly feel that there has to come a point where we have to stop and say most dieting is just not healthy.
Vascular has something to do with the veins and shunt is movement so really this is about moving the blood around the body (correct! – Beeble). With this type of training we are looking not only to improve your fitness but also to improve your body’s ability to get blood where it is need as quickly as possible (we’re going to turn you into a machine – Beeble).
What is it for?
