Gyminee.comBeing internet based and creating quite a following in the process has a slight disadvantage as a Personal Trainer. I can only train you if you live in the UK and then only if you live in Bristol. So whilst I have been racking my brain to find a way to train you, our friends at Gyminee.com have invited me to be one of their online trainers in their very new Gyminee Pro section.

Gyminee

Regular readers may remember our last review on Gyminee and how much we liked it (you can read the full article here). You may also remember that we did our best to find some negative points, which really took some digging! One of them was: no written professional programs and the programmes they did have were written by novices, whose advice can be no better than advice you get from friends, which at times contains very limited knowledge, often with no facts to back it up. Well, this has now changed: there are at present 4 professionals: Stephen Cabral, Michael Diebler, Meagan Lee  and of course yours truly Hugo Saner. All are very qualified and have developed a range of programmes to aid your progress whether novice or expert. Most importantly it now means that you can train with me wherever you are.

Other improvements

We didn’t mention in our last report the fact that the goals you could record were quite limiting. As a trainer I like to record different measurements for different clients depending what their goals are. If a client wants to improve fitness then I will record their body fat percentage, resting heart rate and blood pressure but steer clear of weight and body measurements. At one time Gyminee couldn’t monitor everything I needed it to, but now it does and goes one better by allowing you to record anything you fancy with a fully customisable interface. A very good addition indeed!

What else do you get?

As a pro member you also get the meal planning facility which uses a drag and drop method to plan your meals ahead of time to make sure that you get all the nutrients your body requires. You also get a more advanced nutrition tracker that works with all main food groups (not just a calorie counter then - Beeble). Their calendar also allows you to transfer to your own Google calendar, meaning your strict regime and your daily schedule can now be all in one place. Finally, once you have prepared your meals in advance Gyminee Pro will very kindly create you a shopping list so that you don’t forget anything. If you want to see the Pro features in more detail click here.

The cost?

Did you have to ask? With all these extra features it was bound to cost something, after all a good body doesn’t come cheap…….or does it? Gyminee are charging a very reasonable $15 for 3 months membership. To me that seems very good value for money and has the benefit of not tying you into a long contract. This also has to make me one of the cheapest personal trainers money will buy!

Summary

This website gets the big thumbs up from us as you can imagine it would do if I put my name to it. So my advice is to join up and train with me to get the most out of your training this year. I also feel that it is important that you realise that I do not get paid for the work I do for Gyminee but I do it to make sure that there are good programs out there for you to try.

Let us know how you get on and how you find Gyminee’s services. Good luck with your training!
