The Best Ab Exercises
Do you ever get that feeling at the end of a long workout that there must be a better way to train your stomach? As you lower yourself down into an ab cradle only to go through the motions of exercising your abdominals, it all becomes a bit too automated. I have seen this happen on more than one occasion and it is disappointing to see ab cradles still being used when there is a wide range of stomach exercises out there just waiting for you to try them out.
Function
All ab exercises should be functional and should definitely not need a piece of equipment to train them, especially not the ab cradle which in my opinion is about as much use as ballet shoes are to an elephant. All ab exercises should use all your abdominals in an array of movements that mimic their actual use. They are our key core muscles and they must be treated as such. Therefore crunches alone will not suffice, you need to add many more variations to your stomach routine.
Exercise Library – New Stomach Exercises
Since our aim is to encourage you to vary your stomach exercise routine we are particularly pleased with our latest additions to the Exercise Library. We have added a full repertoire of stomach exercises with teaching aids and videos to show you correct technique and which muscles are being used.
So now you will have no excuses for finishing your workout with a really boring abdominal routine. Have a look at all of them and try and add at least 3 different ones in different orders to the end of your workout. Follow the instructions carefully as there are many wrong ways to do these exercises and only one right way.
You can view all our abdominal exercises here at our exercise library. Good luck with your training and keep coming back because we are adding to them all the time.

Hi Tim,
Thanks for the comment. Yes you are quite right you can’t get the abs you want by stomach exercises alone. You need a full body workout to increase your metabolic rate and to use up excess energy (fat). However the stomach exercises given are an essential part of the perfect abs journey as without improve the muscle tone in that area you won’t ever get the results you want. I hate training my abs to be honest. I achieved results without focusing my abs as other workouts will use your mid-section as well. For instance doing tricep push downs forces me to flex my abs at the same time. Of course a proper diet must be included.
