Born in England in 1976, I realised when I was very young that play was much more fun than work or study. Now, although older and wiser, the idea of life being fun is still a philosophy I apply to my work. I call it “living to work” rather than “working to live”. I feel that life should be a pleasure and when it is, we are happier and perform better. By living this way I also manage to keep a healthy balance between my social life and work life.
I have always enjoyed playing sport and decided to get into fitness training at the age of 15 and after a while joined my local gym. I enjoyed the community spirit there and at the age of 25 I realised that my hobby could become my career and I decided to become a Personal Trainer. After qualifying I worked for a year at a top London gym and then took the big step of going it alone. I say “alone”, but in fact I set up the company with my best friend Nicky, who is now my wife (work and pleasure really can mix!).
We run a successful Personal Training company working in London, Bristol and Saudi Arabia called On Track Fitness where we specialise in a wide range of fitness needs including sport specific training and people with disabilities and injuries. However we find there is a limit to the number of clients we can help during our working day. That is why I decided to write this blog – as a way of reaching more people and helping them with their health and fitness. In this blog I aim to give information that is relevant, helpful and honest. I hope you enjoy reading it and thank you to those who keep coming back for more.
