I have to say that being British it is difficult for me to refer to football as soccer, but as beebleblog is read all over the world it is important that everyone understands that this is about soccer, so I will be good and bite my tongue and hope that other Brits will forgive me.

What is it?

The F.A. (the Football Association – Beeble) and Tesco (one of the UK’s favourite supermarkets – Beeble) have got together to promote soccer and the benefits of soccer to a child’s growth and development. They say that the FA Tesco Skills Programme is a revolutionary approach to youth coaching that is child centred, focusing on both football skills and children’s learning needs.

The Amerathon Club websiteHave you ever felt like giving yourself a challenge in life to help you achieve your health and fitness goals? How about running across the USA? Before you stop reading and think that I have gone mad, please just give me a second to explain.

Over the last few weeks I have been spending my free time using a website called amerathonclub.com and with this name I think you can probably see the link between my “crazy” idea and the website. Naturally, neither I nor the Amerathon Club expect you to run the width of America in one go. However Amerathon Club do ask you to step up to take the challenge and I have to say it is very addictive and a great way to help you get motivated about exercise.

The Amerathon Club offers the following:

Gyminee.comBeing internet based and creating quite a following in the process has a slight disadvantage as a Personal Trainer. I can only train you if you live in the UK and then only if you live in Bristol. So whilst I have been racking my brain to find a way to train you, our friends at Gyminee.com have invited me to be one of their online trainers in their very new Gyminee Pro section.

Gyminee

Regular readers may remember our last review on Gyminee and how much we liked it (you can read the full article here). You may also remember that we did our best to find some negative points, which really took some digging! One of them was: no written professional programs and the programmes they did have were written by novices, whose advice can be no better than advice you get from friends, which at times contains very limited knowledge, often with no facts to back it up. Well, this has now changed: there are at present 4 professionals: Stephen Cabral, Michael Diebler, Meagan Lee  and of course yours truly Hugo Saner. All are very qualified and have developed a range of programmes to aid your progress whether novice or expert. Most importantly it now means that you can train with me wherever you are.

GymineeLet’s face it, recording your results and progress is not a difficult thing to do. All you need is a pen and paper, the ability to write the truth and a concept of time to record the date. There you have it, your very own free record of what you have been up to.

We do try and promote the idea of recording your weight, body fat, muscle size, times on gym equipment, food diary and anything else that may help you towards your goal. It is a great way to get motivated, even if the results are not always as good as you were hoping for. You will also get to see where you are going wrong, especially if you are keeping a very honest food diary.

PumpOne logoAs a Personal Trainer myself I know for a fact that our services can be somewhat outside some people’s budget. More often than not it seems that it is not the cost but the unwillingness to part with hard earned money for something that seems too expensive or, dare I say, something that we know we may give up in a few months.

So what are the alternatives?

There are a few: firstly fitness magazines. If you can bypass all the adverts and “6 minute ab” style promises (or lies, as we like to call them – Beeble) they actually contain some useful guidance and motivational workouts. Then there are the fitness staff at your local gym who are often only too happy to help out and give advice (often depends on how well the company treats them – Beeble). Various internet sites also contain very useful information for you to use like our very own beebleblog.com and the few links and blogs we have mentioned on our menu. Finally, the one we are going to concentrate on today, is a new way of getting varied and interesting workouts via your mobile device. It is a company called “PumpOne”.
